Hope of the Pokomchi Prayer Letter, March 2021

Thank you for your partnership through prayer! Here are this month's prayer requests:

We praise God for the following answered prayer:
|
- Rennovations to the Pampacche health post were completed without problem
- Hirsche Homes (Utah Homes) completed 14 homes in Chepenal for Queja landslide survivors
- ASOSAP started the construction of the 15 latrines; the cement bases for the latrines are now complete
|
- Good health, safety, strength, and coordination as the ASOSAP team/ villagers are working together to build 15 latrines in Chepenal for the families affected by the hurricanes (March.15th-18th)
- Healing and comfort for Don Virgilio and his family (65 year old man who lost his wife and 4 children in the landslide, 14 year old daughter and 2 year old son survived). His daughter Olga is very ill and has been in and out of hospital. Testing continues to try and diagnose her condition.

- Building My Horizon 2021, June-November: Funds needed, $8,256, would be provided
- Comfort for all the families who have had to relocate and who have lost loved ones and all their belongings
- That renovations to the Providencia health post would proceed smoothly
- Protection from coronavirus for ASOSAP staff and program participants in 2021
- Pokomchi Staff, Bill and Linda, the Boards of Directors, and Canadian Advisory Committee – Please pray that we all continue to stay God-centered and God-powered.

Updates from our Pokomchi world and more things to pray about:

The border and airport remain open for international travel. Mask use is mandatory. COVID vaccinations for health professionals have started in Guatemala. Churches locally are still able to meet in person. There aren’t any big changes in terms of current restrictions. Cases have decreased locally, currently we are at yellow alert. Recent statistics: San Cristobal = 8 confirmed cases; Alta Verapaz = 235 active cases; Total Cases in Guatemala = 180,393; currently active = 7461; deaths =6522; recovered =165,479
