Gifting T-Shirts and Dresses (from Bellingham Team) during Food Bank Deliveries; also they show well how we feel about our recent answers to pray!
[subscriber:firstname | default:reader],
These are our answers to prayer that we are grateful for:
  • The old pickup (white Hilux) sold!!
  • The August Food Bank deliveries went well and donations were received that allow these deliveries to continue through October
  • Interdepartmental travel opened up and we were able to bring volunteer Lynette from Antigua to San Cristobal (a 6 hr drive!)
  • The first hand-out of the BMH educational packages to parents was a success
These are our prayer requests that we ask you to join us in praying for:

Ongoing from previous Prayer Letters
  • That God would provide everything we need in this time of crisis
  • God’s protection for each of us and our families, Bill and Linda, and all of our ministry partners and supporters
  • That Baby Frander could have his long-awaited surgery
  • For protection, strength, and provision for the pastors and chronic patients
  • Guidance for 2021 ministry planning
  • That the modified version of the Building My Horizon program would go smoothly; for patience and motivation for the parents and children as they start this education at home
  • That we would continue to adapt well to the modified way of working within the ASOSAP new normal
  • Continued provision, strength, and peace for the Food Bank Project recipients
New Prayer Requests
  • For continued good health and safety for volunteer Lynette and a blessed time of adjustment to life in San Cristobal
  • Wisdom and health for Guatemala’s inhabitants and its government as some areas of the country are opening up, despite large numbers of COVID-19 cases and deaths

Updates from our ASOSAP world and more things to pray about:

Guatemala recently went through an update in their COVID reporting processes. The result is a higher overall number of cases and of recovered cases. The number of deaths has also risen. The country is starting to loosen restrictions and has initiated a traffic light color coded system to indicate how strict restrictions are. Red being the highest alert with more restrictions and green being the lowest with fewer restrictions. According to their parameters, San Cristobal is at red alert. We continue to have a country wide daily curfew from 9pm- 4am and mandatory mask use. Recent statistics: total cases = 70,714; deaths = 2662; Recovered = 58,783; The number of cases in our department of Alta Verapaz and in San Cristobal have increased. Alta Verapaz = 932; San Cristobal = 57 (10 currently active, 1 death)

Our ministry
The office renovation process at Shekinah continues. Staff are busy preparing food packages which are then delivered monthly. Education packages for BMH are also a team effort with making them up and then reviewing them, before they are handed out to parents monthly. We are excited to check up on BMH parents and children, to see how the first learning package went. We are happy to have volunteer Lynette with us and helping out where needed.

Pokomchi Staff, Bill and Linda, the Boards of Directors, and Canadian Advisory CommitteePlease pray that we all continue to stay God-centered and God-powered.

We thank you for standing in the gap for the Pokomchi and this ministry.
You are vital to this ministry!
