UPDATE: “Rebuilding My Horizon” Children’s Program

We are so enjoying time with the children and seeing them grow! The children are very enthusiastic to come to class and learn. So far, they have learned about the seven things that are detestable to the Lord (see Proverbs 6:16-19). From this, not to have a lying tongue has especially stood out with them. Families have commented that their children are trying to lie less, are noticing when other people lie, and are educating them not to have a “lengua mentirosa (lying tongue)”.  They have also learned all the fruits of the spirit (see Galatians 5: 22-23). The children are keen to share what they have learned with others and are happily and diligently making their murals (involves pasting drawings relating to each class topic to a wall in their homes for all to see). We also have seen that the children have a higher level of reverence towards God and are thinking more about what they say and do, recognizing that God is there with them and seeing all.

Another positive effect is seeing the children grow in friendship with each other. The older children are even mentoring the younger children through helping them with reading and memorizing their bible verses. We have also noticed families growing closer as they take time to walk with their children to and from class. It is heart-warming to see all these changes!

We asked them several questions about what they think of class. In the photo cards are some of their responses. We hope you enjoy seeing and hearing from the children as much as we do! Please continue to pray for the children, the ASOSAP team, and the program in general. Your prayers are greatly appreciated!
